The NGO’s primary goal is to support artists and their rights, while also facilitating events related to contemporary art. It aims to foster a supportive environment for artistic expression and contribute to the diversity of contemporary culture.

Since education and art are closely linked, Refugiu de Creație plays a crucial role in the cognitive and emotional development of children and young people, contributing to the formation of creative, empathetic individuals with developed critical thinking. Thus, its objective is not only to promote art but also to positively influence the community and society as a whole.

To achieve its goals, Refugiu de Creație aims to:

• Initiate and implement cultural programs to promote and support artistic activities.
• Develop and perfect the field of arts, attracting and utilizing resources to support it.
• Promote the association’s achievements at national and international levels, collaborating with specialized organizations from home and abroad.
• Promote cultural exchange programs with an educational impact.
• Encourage and promote various forms of artistic expression by talented children and young people.
• Support the exercise of rights and defend the professional interests of its members.
• Organize exhibitions, artistic residencies, art salons, book launches, plays, fairs, symposiums, festivals, creative camps, art auctions, and other specific activities.
• Publish art magazines, newsletters, studies, monographs, catalogs, and albums.
• Expand the material base and develop spaces for organizing cultural events.
• Support the debut of young contemporary artists.
• Advocate for the respect of contemporary artists’ rights.

The NGO organizes and participates in symposiums, conferences, colloquiums, exhibitions, seminars, and other national and international events. It also periodically publishes materials to present its activities and promote contemporary art. Additionally, the association supports the creation of original works in the field of contemporary arts and awards prizes and distinctions for outstanding merits.

REFUGIU

The Romanian word “refugiu” has several meanings, and its origin can be traced back to the French term “refuge,” which, in turn, has its roots in the Latin word “refugium”. Let’s explore the different senses of “refugiu”:

1. Taking Refuge: This refers to the act of seeking refuge or spending time as a refugee in a specific location.
2. Shelter or Safe Haven: A place of shelter during times of danger. Synonyms include “adăpost” (shelter) and “azil” (asylum).
